Freedom – Freedom: I Am

Laws & Functions | Chapter 26

This is the purest Freedom: the awareness of Self unbound by concept, unshaped by history, unstained by fear.

There was a man who, one day, set forth in a hot-air balloon—
not to travel the lands of the earth, but to ascend to the Heavens.

He loaded his vessel with all the things he thought necessary—
tools, trophies, books, achievements—
fragments of experience gathered through lifetimes of struggle in matter.
He called them his “freedoms” and “accomplishments.” But in truth, they were his weights.

He had become one with them. They were no longer objects outside himself, but pieces of his identity, his protection against the unknown.

He believed the world of matter to be life itself.
And beyond matter?
Perhaps something… perhaps nothing.
He did not know, and—more importantly—he did not care to know. For the pleasures of the known were enough. Yet the balloon would not rise.
Anchored not by ropes, but by attachment. What he had gained through effort, now chained him to the earth.

The Call of True Freedom

True Freedom does not consist in the liberty to act within the field of matter.
True Freedom is not the power to choose endlessly among desires.
Freedom is the liberation from the very field of desire.

It is not the balloon that must rise—
it is the Self that must be lightened.

You must cast off not only your burdens,
but even your glories.
Not only your fears,
but even your self-concept.

The inner cry of the soul is not:

“I want to be free,”
but
“I want to remember that I am Freedom.”

For Freedom is not granted from without.
It is not a condition to be reached,
but a nature to be uncovered.

Ego and the Illusion of Bondage

And so, in the man’s journey through illusion,
he came to identify himself with the very boundaries that limited him.

He said: “I am what I have built.”
“I am what I control.”
“I am my body, my story, my name.”

But Freedom whispered:

“You are not what you have built—
You are the Breath that builds worlds.”
“You are not your history—
You are the timeless Flame that observes all stories.”
“You are not your name—
You are the Silence before names.”

The Unveiling of the I AM

When all false weights are released,
the being begins to ascend.

And in the silence above all definitions,
there emerges a sacred Voice—not from outside, but within:

“I AM.”

Not “I am this” or “I am that.”
Just—I AM.

This is the purest Freedom:
the awareness of Self
unbound by concept,
unshaped by history,
unstained by fear.

Transformation Through Isolation

Just as the caterpillar, in its isolation, becomes the butterfly,
so too does the soul, in sacred solitude, shed the shells of illusion.

Not in rejection of the world,
but in the unbinding from identity with it.

There is a holy solitude that is not loneliness,
but reunion with the Essence.
It is not retreat—it is return.

And from that return, the soul can whisper:

“I no longer seek to escape.
I seek to reveal.”
“For I am not a shadow chasing light—
I am the Light that sees the shadow.”

O Seeker,
Your Freedom is not far.
It is not in tomorrow’s victory, nor in yesterday’s escape.

It is here, now,
as close as your own breath,
as still as your own center.

Say no longer:

“When I am ready, I will be free.”

Instead, declare:

“I AM FREEDOM. I AM.” And rise.

Let go of the illusions that separate Me from you. Let go of the dogmas that encase Me in altars of stone and rites void of meaning. I am not imprisoned there. I Am free and I Am among the free. I call you to become what I Am: bearers of the Flame, mirrors of the Father, hands of the Mother, hearts of the Infinite. Do not be afraid. You are not alone. The path of return to Unity is walked by many feet, and I walk with every one.

  • SELF-RESPECT

Self-respect is a holy function, not a personal virtue. It is the divine gatekeeper that ensures your choices, expressions, and paths remain rooted in your God-origin.
It reminds you not just what you are—but who you are: a living Word of God. In this remembrance, the path of Return unfolds.

  • FEET

Ηow an individual’s connection with the material world can either anchor them to worldly concerns or elevate them to higher spiritual awareness. If the mind is excessively bound to the material, it becomes ‘heavy,’ and this heaviness manifests in the feet as a symbol of being weighed down by worldly concerns. Conversely, when the mind is attuned to spiritual truths, the feet become instruments of Divine purpose, capable of treading the path of spiritual evolution with grace and assurance.

  • Word of God – Word of Man

The Word of God represents the Absolute Truth, the ultimate Divine Wisdom that transcends all material boundaries. It is the creative force, the eternal voice that governs and sustains the cosmos. Simultaneously, the Word of Man is the expression of the human spirit striving to align with the Divine Will. The Logos becomes a bridge, a link between the finite human consciousness and the infinite Divine Mind.

  • Material, Emotional, and Intellectual Dependencies

The author teaches that attachment to material things — wealth, possessions, comfort — acts as a heavy chain anchoring the soul to the ground. Yet material attachments are only the beginning. Even more insidious are emotional attachments — our cravings for affection, approval, relationships — which can enslave the soul far more subtly. Finally, intellectual attachments — rigid ideas, personal beliefs, the pride of the mind — become even more dangerous because they disguise themselves as higher values, leading humans to believe their partial truths are universal truths.
