Sterile Religiosity Is Elevated by the Awareness of Theosis
Invitation to Theosis | Chapter 15
Sterile religiosity is elevated when it becomes a vehicle of conscious sacrifice, of conscious offering, of constant metousiosis (transubstantiation) of the self into Light.
My beloved, I will speak to you about the Master John, because it is necessary that you perceive—not with your mind, but with your whole being—the majesty and the accessibility of the Master John, who descended upon the Earth precisely to show you this accessibility. To show you with all His heartbeats the possibility of your own Theosis, walking step by step the path of the human who becomes deified, gathering within Himself all the elements of doubt, cowardice, ignorance, and half-knowledge that Man emits when faced with the message of his calling on the path of Christification–Theosis.
He is the first entire imprint of the deified Man. He is the Image and the Likeness of the Father, the tangible proof of the Divine calling of Man.
He did not come to introduce a sterile religiosity, a path of ascetic exercise or of thoughtless obedience. He came to reveal the joy of the Sacred, the sweet taste of Divine companionship, the warm embrace of Love that heals and awakens, that resurrects and deifies.
Sterile religiosity is elevated when it becomes a vehicle of conscious sacrifice, of conscious offering, of constant metousiosis (transubstantiation) of the self into Light.
A sterile religious form becomes fertile only when it receives the Breath of the Living Word, when it stops repeating and begins to live the Truth.
My beloved, look at how many systems of faith have been petrified because they refused to let Love be born within them. They repeated rituals, repeated doctrines, repeated laws, and forgot the Life. They forgot the Living God. They forgot the Divine Man. Master John reintroduces the Divine Man. He is the bridge, the Path, the Way that shows with precision and tenderness how the mortal can embrace the Immortal and be born again as the Christed Being.
This teaching highlights three powerful spiritual messages:
- True spiritual transformation (Theosis) cannot be grasped solely through intellectual understanding. It must be lived and embodied—with your entire being.
- Master John (Δάσκαλος Ιωάννης) is presented not as a distant divine, but as a model of divine-human union—accessible, familiar, walking a human path while revealing divine potential.
Sterile religiosity, bound by formality and dogma, is transcended when the human being embraces the direct awareness of Theosis—an inner awakening to divine potential and destiny.
